Four County Quilters Guild Traditions

Name Tags

At our monthly meetings, you are encouraged to wear a name tag.  If you don't have one made yet, or have forgotten yours, you can write a name tag at the check-in table.

Door Prizes

At our monthly meetings, we have a drawing for door prizes.  Tickets are free.  If you wear your name tag, you get two tickets!

Spring Tea

We have an afternoon tea on a spring Saturday at a member's home.  The date depends on the volunteer hostess's schedule, and the tea is organized by a volunteer committee.

We usually display our Spring Challenge quilts at this event.  However, you do not need to bring a challenge quilt in order to attend the tea.  Everyone is encouraged to attend, with or without a challenge quilt!

Attendees bring a dish to share, either sweet or savory.

May Banquet/Annual Meeting

The May meeting is our "annual meeting" where we approve the following fiscal year's budget and elect new officers.  Our fiscal year is July 1 - June 30.

We have some kind of celebratory refreshments; the plan is determined by a volunteer committee.

Ice Cream Social

In August, we have an ice cream social.  We make ice cream sundaes and socialize with our fellow members.  The event is organized by a volunteer committee.

Pi/Pie Day

During the March meeting, we eat pie to celebrate Pi Day.  The pies are served by a volunteer committee.

Quilt Challenges

We have two challenges a year, in spring and fall.  The themes are determined by a volunteer committee.  Generally, the spring challenge quilts are displayed during the Spring Tea, and the fall challenge quilts are displayed at a guild meeting.  A vote is taken among the members in attendance at the tea and meeting, and cash prizes are awarded to the first, second, and third place challenge quilts.

Mystery Quilters

Once a year, our meeting program is presented by Mystery Quilters.  These Mystery Quilters are guild members who volunteer to present their quilts to the members, like an extended show and tell.

This is a favorite program among our members!

Retreats

Guild retreats are organized twice a year, in the spring and fall.  Attendance is limited and is on a first-come, first-served basis.

See the retreats page on this website for more information.
